We took a day trip to Umi no Naka Michi, a beach not too far from Fukuoka. It was about a half-hour train ride away.
Unfortunately, we couldn't get to the sand, but we did get to enjoy the ocean...
... and the sunset...

You couldn't get to the sand?
No! All paths to the beach were blocked off. It was a state park, maybe (?) there were environmental reasons. Who knows. But it was a pretty view anyhow :)
So you were missing Hawaii, huh? Or maybe California??? :-)
